Workplace Campaigns

Thousands of employees in the Ozarks are united through workplace giving. One of the easiest ways to donate is via payroll deduction. Workplace campaigns give employees the opportunity to support and advocate for causes that matter most to them.

Steps to Success

  1. Submit your Campaign Participation Form
  2. Review the Workplace Campaign Guidebook.
  3. Browse the Resource Library below.
  4. Meet with your United Way account manager.
  5. Recruit a co-employee campaign manager or planning committee (optional).
  6. Meet with your leadership team to get campaign endorsements.
Sending a note from your organization’s leadership to all employees endorsing and announcing the campaign dates is a great way to boost your campaign!
  7. Build a communication plan to promote your campaign.
Creating a calendar of campaign events is a great way to keep your team informed. Share your goal and information on how your teammates can participate.
  8. Schedule a United Way speaker to give a presentation to your employees. This is our #1 Key to a Successful Campaign!
  1. Host a campaign kickoff event.
This is a great opportunity for United Way to give a presentation to your team. Share why your organization hosts a workplace campaign to support your community through the United Way Ozarks Region. You can even engage retirees!
  2. Ensure that every employee has the opportunity to contribute. Provide employees with a paper pledge form or the link to your online pledge form.
    • A rollover campaign is an effective way to maintain engagement. Be sure to communicate with your team if your workplace runs a rollover campaign. A great way to boost participation is to incentivize new donors or increased giving.
  3. Communicate with employees throughout the campaign!
Provide updates on the campaign progress and celebrate milestones.
  4. Find creative ways to recognize your leadership donors ($500+). Your United Way account manager can provide you with this list.
  5. Host special event fundraisers.
Lunch and learns, chili cookoffs and cornhole tournaments are some fun ways to promote your campaign while raising money!
  6. Promote your campaign on social media. Be sure to tag @uwozarks.
  7. Stay in touch with your United Way account manager. Our job is to help you succeed!
  1. Collect paper pledge forms, cash/check donations and special event monies. Submit final report envelopes/spreadsheets to your United Way account manager and your payroll team promptly.
    • Please remit check or cash donations to United Way of the Ozarks within one week of the campaign’s close.
    • All pledges and monetary donations must be turned into United Way by March 31, 2026.

  2. Announce your campaign results to your coworkers.

  3. Thank all donors with a celebration event and/or a letter from your organization’s leadership.
